Purple kale

It was time to try the purple kale.  I shredded and cooked for about 10 minutes.  It remained chewy, not soft, so decided no to give to girls.  I mixed mustard and sharp cheese with warm kale, which made it quite nice.  It must be rammed full of iron, the way it tastes.  Nigella suggested serving with chorizo. Hmm…?

Getting back-on-track

Done really rubbish this week.. We’ve had a little disruption, and poor motivation.  We’ve still got loads of the vegetable box left, and I feel a little sluggish.  We could do with getting back-on-track for the next few weeks in the run up to Christmas.

Been away...

We’ve had lots of time away, and eating out.  We had a meal with Grandma at Villa Italia.  As always, it was excellent.  Then, a weekend in Birmingham brought food by Gary (asparagus pasta with egg yolks and parmesan) and pepper and courgette tortillas (fried with some mushrooms and a tortilla spice mix).  In the box last week we got
  • Purple kale

  • Carrots

  • Onions

  • Potatoes

  • Butternut squash

  • Leeks

  • Broccoli
